"Beauty Love Truth" Friday Night at the Magnet Theater

Come out Friday for an interesting evening: I'll be performing a set of my songs, and then the Magnet Theater Company will improvise sketches based on the lyrics. I'm excited and terrified by this concept, but it should make for a fun evening. I'll be joined by Mike McGinnis on the woodwinds.

BEAUTY LOVE TRUTH features some of the best improvisers at Magnet  Theater, who perform scenes inspired by songs from a live musical  guest, resulting in a funny, but smart and often touching theatrical  one-act. Past musical guests have included Matthew Caws from Nada  Surf, Brian Dewan, John Dyer, James Eason, Lee Feldman, Dave Foster,  Neill Furio, Chris Mills, Marykate O'Neil, Greg Peterson, Roland  Satterwhite, Nate Shelkey, and Lianne Smith.

We are thrilled to welcome Joe McGinty of Losers Lounge to perform as  the inspiration for the show on Friday, November 11th at 9:30. The  cost is $5 and as our beer and wine license is pending, you are  welcome to BYOB.

Pete's Candy Store, Wednesday Night

I'll be playing a set of original music this Wednesday night at Pete's Candy Store at 10:30 PM. I'll be accompanied by Mike McGinnis, who will be playing Bass Clarinet, Clarinet, Percussion, and Electronics. I'm very excited about this new project--this the fledgling gig. Tribeca Film Festival

Last Saturday, I played the Tribeca Film Festival Awards Ceremony, which was held at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center. We played the "walk-on music" for the presenters. In fact, we played "Walk On The Wild Side" for Eddie Izzard, who looked over to us and remarked, "What do I look like a prostitute to you?". We also got a nice look from Griffin Dunne, star of "American Werewolf In London" when we played "Werewolves of London" and Denis Leary gave us a nice shout out. Robert DeNiro seemed to enjoy "Jumpin' Jack Flash".

Nick Danger at the Piano Parlour This Week

This week I'm very excited to have Nick Danger at the Piano Parlour this week! As many of you know, Nick started the Loser's Lounge with me at the Pink Pony many years ago. Last week we had a set of great pop tunes from Erik Paparozzi and a special visit from Nikko Weidemann , who was visiting from Berlin. Nikko's played with all sorts of cool people, including Nick Cave and Rammstein. He was joined by Don Piper and Cassis of B-Blush

"Maria" at Sesame Street Loser's Lounge

Here's a shot of me & Sonia Manzano (Sesame Street's "Maria"). Sonia joined us for a rousing rendition of "Tu Me Gustas", and "The Arm". She was great to work with, and really got the kids involved in the show!
